Senior Estimator

What does it take

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator with experience in the Aluminium Window and Door Industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting accurate take-offs, preparing detailed bills of quantities, and managing the end-to-end estimation process for commercial window, door, and glazing projects. This role requires proficiency in construction estimating software, excellent organisational skills, and strong communication abilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analyse tender drawings, specifications, site photos, and other documents to create trade categories for uploading onto
    Estimate One, including document control.
  • Create trade packages and perform take-offs to prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
  • Source procurement by obtaining supplier prices and engaging subcontractors.
  • Manage Estimate One tenders throughout the tendering process.
  • Review and analyse subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure compliance with tender design and scope requirements.
  • Complete quote comparisons and negotiate pricing as necessary.
  • Utilise Wunderbuild estimating and project management software platform effectively.
  • Assist in completing Returnable Schedules and tender submissions, including supplementary documents required for submission.
  • Administer contracts, maintaining accurate records of estimates, contracts, variation quotes, and change orders.
  • Gather handover documents and As-built drawings from contractors for submission to clients upon project completion.

Qualification

  • Minimum 3 years of estimating experience in the Aluminium Window and Door Industry.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software, including AutoCAD
  • High proficiency in software for estimating, quotations, and project tracking.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong organisational skills and punctuality.
  • Self-motivated and capable of managing time effectively.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring no aspect is overlooked.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
